About Us

HNB Longhorns is a family owned and operated farm that specializes in raising Texas Longhorn Cattle for breeding stock as well as Lean All Natural beef. The farm was started in 1991 by Harv and Bev Brandt. Both Harv and Bev shared a passion for the breed and worked closely together to build the program to what it is today. They both where founding members of the Great Lakes Texas Longhorn Association (GLTLA), and each held various positions over the years. Harv and Bev had been married just over 50 years at the time of her death in the summer of 2010. The two of them were a team when it came to the farm, everything from baling hay to chopping firewood for the winter, was done together. After the sudden passing of Bev many family members stepped up to help Harv keep the operation alive. Their older daughter Sandy and husband Tony can be found on the farm most summer weekends helping with house and yard work and hay when the time comes. Their eldest grandson Josh has always been interested and enjoyed working on the farm from a young age. After the passing of his grandma Bev he found himself more and more involved with the farm as time went on. In 2011 he proposed to his wife Megan in the pasture amongst the cows. In 2014 Josh and Megan moved next door to the farm to be a part of the day to day operations of HNB. Harv (Bev) have 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, that all love to come out to the farm and enjoy the cattle.
