Meet the Shaw’s

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. HNB Longhorns is proud to be a multi-generational family oriented farm. I grew up with Longhorns and have been in love with them from a very young age. It was a dream of mine as a kid to continue what my grandparents had started. My wife has played a huge role in making my dream a reality. Megan and I got engaged on the farm in August of 2011. Her and my grandfather are my biggest supporters in all that I do. We got married on June 9th 2012 and from day one have had dreams of raising Texas longhorns together. In the spring of 2014 we found out that we would be expecting our first child. At the time, I was working a very demanding job in Operations for a Tier 1 Automotive supplier as well as supporting my grandfather in the evenings and weekends on the farm. Megan was working at our local Hospital. When we found out that we were expecting, we decided to either move closer to the farm or I need to find a less demanding job. Fortunate for us, God orchestrated us finding a house right next door to the farm and me getting a job with a smaller family owned Automotive Aluminum Extrusion Company. We welcomed our son, Brandt Russell Shaw, into this world on November 15th 2014.It has been awesome to see the relationship he has with his Great Grandpa. Some of his very first words were tractor and cow. It so cool to bring him along to our association meetings and Longhorn events and run into people who remember me going along with my grandparents when I was not much older than him. This year on June 17th 2016 we welcomed our 2nd child, Everlee Mae Shaw into the family. It has been a very crazy summer at our household with a newborn and 20 month old running around. I am very fortunate that Megan is able to stay home with both of our kids, to allow me the time necessary to work on the farm after work and on the weekends. Most days I am convinced I have the easier job. We are very blessed that Everlee is a very calm and content baby. She and her brother get along great! As if a full time job and 2 kids under 2 years old wasn’t enough to tackle we decided that it was time that HNB longhorns become more active in the Longhorn community outside of Michigan. Megan and I have plans to start attending more of the shows and sales on the National level in the next year. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet some more great people that share our love for the breed. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have and visitors are always welcome.

God Bless,
Josh Shaw & Megan Shaw
